The Institute for Applied Research for Business is a partner in the 30-month project
with a
topic: DigitalVScorrupt, coordinated by EPEKA Montenegro, running from December 1, 2023, to
Мау 1, 2026.
This project is designed to tackle corruption, a persistent issue that weakens
democratic institutions, hinders economic growth, and undermines rule of law. The Western
Balkans are particularly vulnerable to corruption, and this initiative aims to align the
region with EU standards and values through education, policy dialogue, and digital
innovation.
Project Goals
The project is structured around several key goals:
- - Fostering cross-sectoral collaboration to promote informal learning and digitalization in anti-corruption efforts.
- - Enhancing organizational capacity to use technology as a tool for detecting and preventing corruption.
- - Encouraging dialogue with policymakers to advocate for stronger anti-corruption measures and reinforce the rule of law.
- - By leveraging digital tools, education, and cross-border cooperation, the project actively contributes to strengthening transparency and accountability in the EU and Western Balkans.
Planned Activities and Expected Outcomes
The project includes a broad spectrum of activities, involving 900 participants from 13 countries in the following activities:
- - Training courses for 75 youth workers on best practices in anti-corruption.
- - Cross-border collaborations with 240 participants.
- - Conferences with 150 professionals to exchange opinions and views on anti- corruption strategies and solutions.
Additionally, the project will develop training materials, toolkits, and digital resources to empower individuals and institutions in combating corruption.
Inclusivity and Social Impact
A defining feature of the project is its commitment to inclusivity and diversity. The partnership includes organizations representing marginalized communities, such as LGBTQ+ networks and Roma advocacy groups, ensuring a broad societal impact. By integrating these perspectives, DigitalVScorrupt promotes equity and ensures that anti-corruption efforts recognize the needs of all citizens.
Long-Term Vision and Sustainability
Beyond its immediate impact, DigitalVScorrupt aims to create sustainable networks and resources that will continue to support anti-corruption efforts beyond the project’s duration. By emphasizing non- formal education, digital tools, and participatory approaches, the project seeks to empower youth, civil society, and business community to take an active role in fostering a transparent and accountable future.
DigitalVScorrupt is a innovative initiative that combines education, digital innovation, and international cooperation to combat corruption at multiple levels. Through cross- sectoral collaboration, policy engagement, and digitalization, the project contributes to building stronger, more democratic societies in both the EU and the Western Balkans. With a strategic focus on youth empowerment and technological solutions, it sets a precedent for future anti-corruption efforts within the region and beyond.
